Hello Everyone,
This past weekend I was formally inducted into the Michigan Motor sports Hall of Fame. I want to thank everyone that took the time to attend the banquet and witness my inauguration. I especially wish to thank the Board of Directors and Members of the Hall of Fame for this wonderful honor and tribute to my family and team.
I enjoyed spending time with everyone over the weekend and sharing the recognition of this event with my family, friends and team members. Its hard to believe that the past past 28 years has gone by so quickly.
We have certainly accomplished many goals and continue to achieve success with our racing program. I have no intentions of stopping or retiring from this sport. I still believe we have many years of success in front of us and many wins to add our total.
I have an undeniable burning desire to win the one race that has alluded our efforts up till now. The Glass City 200 at Toledo Speedway remains as the last prestigious event that I will win before I ever consider throwing my steering wheel away for good.
Preparation are well underway for the 2007 season. Our Lola chassis will soon be completing repairs at Port City and will be back in our race shop for finishing.
Our Ford Engine program will also be re-evaluated and upgraded to assure our team of a winning competitive level.
Many teams and individuals have told me that we have the best Ford Engine program of any Super Late Model short track team in the country. There is no doubt in my mind that we have achieved that level through 4 yrs of hard work and dedication to winning. We have made it to the top of our field and we intend to stay there. My thanks to Butch Giles, Earl Bonner and Roush Racing for providing me with an engine package that is the envy of the short track racing world.
My thanks to Royal Truck Trailer and ARCA for sponsoring the Gold Cup travel prize this year. My family will be traveling to join me in Venice Italy over the Thanksgiving week and we will also be celebrating my son Drew's 17Th birthday while we are in Europe. I appreciate this UN-usual and extraordinary prize.
I hope you all have a safe and joy full Holiday Season. I look forward to reuniting with you all for the upcoming 2007 Racing Season.
